S/V 'Kini's LegaSea is an American-made Gemini Legacy 35, inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and celebrated as one of the most family-friendly performance cruising catamarans in the world. With a spirited personality and generous space inside and out, she comfortably accommodates up to six passengers — offering both ease and performance under sail. Glide through the tranquil waters of the Intracoastal Waterway in search of manatees, or catch the ocean breeze alongside playful dolphins along Jacksonville’s North Florida coast. Either way, she’s the perfect vessel for your next coastal cruise.

Hi there! We are Kenny and Vera and we can’t wait to share the joy of sailing with you on the water soon!

Kenny is a Coast Guard licensed (OUPV) Captain with multiple ASA sailing certifications and decades of sailing experience. He began racing Hobie Cats off local beaches as a teenager and over the years has sailed the Bahamas, the Florida Keys, and the open Atlantic up to Chesapeake Bay, building his expertise in both offshore passages and Intracoastal Waterway navigation. Committed to your safety and comfort, Kenny crafts each sailing charter to provide a tailored and unforgettable experience.

Vera is our seasoned “Admiral” holding multiple ASA sailing certifications and experience crewing on sailing vessels in the Florida Keys, the coastal Atlantic, and the Intracoastal Waterway. As a Florida native, she delights in spotting and sharing local coastal wildlife — especially her favorite, the Roseate Spoonbill — while setting sails and ensuring every one of her guests enjoys a seamless, memorable, and truly enjoyable sailing adventure.​

We had an unforgettable summer sunset cruise with Making Waves Coastal Cruises in Jacksonville! Captain Kenny and "Admiral" Vera were amazing—fun, welcoming, and made the experience extra special. The serene waters of the Intracoastal provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful evening, and we were lucky enough to spot dolphins swimming, as well as a beautiful group of Roseate Spoonbills. ​Highly recommend a sail on 'Kini's LegaSea. We've been a few times now and we love the boat and crew. Totally chill, with beautiful sunsets, Jacksonville wildlife, including dolphins and bird types. Vera and Kenny D'Angelo are very skilled at captaining the helm and making you feel welcomed and special. The sunset cruise is perfect for an after work wind-down. It's our go-to for a special occasion like a friend's birthday or anniversary.
